Pop-Up Shops

Driving results with our experienced team and flexible approach

Brief

Having specialised in mall commercialisation for 25 years, Forum have delivered a huge variety of activity to malls of centres across the UK.  This enhances shopper experience while increasing income for the landlords we work on behalf of. We have always engaged in pop up shop initiatives and encouraged longer term mall retailers to scale up and expand their businesses.  These temporary retail spaces are an effective strategy for increasing engagement, generating revenue, fostering brand awareness and offer unique benefits for both landlords and retailers.

Delivery

With our wealth of experience, we are able to identify retailers and service-based operators who would make a comfortable step into shop units from mall space.  For some this is quite a challenge; the scale of units, staffing implications, shop fitting required, additional utility charges, business rates and service charge contributions can be daunting.  Using the nurturing, friendly service we are known for, we are able to simplify this process and make it achievable.

Results

During recent years, we have delivered a variety of good quality pop up shop units in our centres.  Highlights include a particularly attractive craft and gift shop in St Cuthberts Walk in Chester Le Street who vary their products to reflect seasonal demand, a sublet unit at Shopping City Runcorn with everything on offer from a barber to printing services and Christmas Pop Up Shops in several centres including The Avenue, Newton Mearns. The best example of our work is illustrated by the example of an enquiry from the NHS for mall space to advertise winter flu jabs, concluded with the delivery of a 3 year lease for a vaccination clinic at the Piazza Centre in Paisley.  This has been particularly well received by the local community along with the tenants of the scheme who have commented on increased footfall and a wider variety of shoppers since their opening.  The NHS reported 14,000 people walking through their doors for booked appointments in the first two months of opening which is an excellent result.
